Introducing Sunra MCP,
every model at its maker's price
Today we're launching Sunra MCP. It connects the AI assistant you already use to leading image, video and audio models, and it bills each model at the price its maker charges for API access.
In this post, we explain why we chose that pricing, how Sunra credits work, and how our prices compare.

Generative models have made it easy to turn an idea into an image, a video or a voice. The cost of each generation still shapes how people use them, though. When every attempt is expensive, people try fewer ideas and settle earlier.
Good results usually come from many attempts, the way a photographer shoots a whole roll to find one frame. A high price per attempt shows up in the work, not only on the bill.
When comparing prices, it helps to know how these models are usually sold. Many platforms sell them through credits priced above the maker's API rate, and some offer "unlimited" plans, which typically cover a set list of models and come with usage limits such as caps, queues or cooldowns.
We chose a simple rule: where a model's maker publishes an API price, Sunra charges that price. That doesn't make Sunra the lowest price on every model, and the tables below show where it isn't.
How Sunra pricing works
Sunra uses credits. Where a model's maker publishes an API price, Sunra bills that price with no fees on top, at $0.01 per credit: a model its maker sells for $0.40 per second costs 40 credits per second. When a maker changes its price, we change ours to match.
What you pay for a credit depends on how you buy it. On the Basic plan, a credit costs $0.01 ($12 a month for 1,200 credits), so you pay the maker's price. The Pro and Creator plans include credits at lower rates, and yearly billing lowers them further:
| Plan | Price a month | Credits a month | Per credit | Per credit, billed yearly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $12 | 1,200 | $0.0100 | $0.0075 |
| Pro | $29–$99 | 3,500–12,000 | $0.0082–$0.0083 | $0.0049 |
| Creator | $125–$2,051 | 17,000–280,000 | $0.0073–$0.0074 | $0.0037 |
A model costs the same number of credits on every plan, so a lower credit rate means a lower cost per generation.
Credits are shared across Sunra: the same balance pays for generations in the Sunra app and through Sunra MCP.
How our prices compare
Five of the latest models, each priced at the setting shown on its card. The first row shows Sunra on the Basic plan billed monthly, where you pay the maker's API price; the second compares Creator yearly with competitors' highest individual annual plans, using a lower recorded API price where available. The source data for these cards was collected on 14–15 October 2026. Competitor pricing was cross-checked against public sources on 17 October 2026.1
Basic, monthly $12/mo 1,200 credits $0.01/credit
Creator, yearly $63/mo 17,000 credits $0.0037/credit
Competitors: highest individual annual plans, or a lower recorded API price.
On the Creator plan billed yearly, 37 of the 41 model settings below cost less on Sunra than the lowest recorded competitor price at these annual comparison rates.2
Competitor plans and comparison limits
- Runway Max: $76/mo billed annually; 9,500 credits/month.
- Krea Max 100K: $99/mo billed annually; 100,000 compute units/month.
- OpenArt Wonder: $175/mo billed annually; 106,000 credits/month.
- Magnific Pro 4M: $210/mo billed annually; 4,000,000 credits/year.
- Pollo Ultra 12K: $229/mo billed annually; 12,000 credits/month.
- Higgsfield Ultra 9K: $270/mo billed annually; 9,000 credits/month.
- Pika Fancy maximum: $704/mo billed annually; 79,200 credits/month.
Competitor annual plans checked 17 October 2026. Highest public individual tiers, excluding teams and enterprise; all included credits used. Lower recorded app or separately billed API price shown. Temporary offers, MCP-specific discounts and unlimited allowances excluded. fal and Replicate use their public API prices. Sunra figures use the same rate-card basis as the tables, before per-request credit rounding. Unverified offers are not counted; this is not a claim covering every available offer.
The full table covers every model in Sunra's prompt box with a maker API price we could verify3 (41 in total), each at its default setting, with what other platforms list for the same model. Each price links to its source4, and a price below Sunra's says by how much5.

Prices are per generated model, at the setting under each model's name.
Sunra charges the model maker's API price, named under each of its prices.
Where a platform's API doesn't sell a model, its price comes from its app credits at its lowest-priced monthly plan; hover a price to see the plan.7
Couldn't verify: we couldn't confirm the price or the offer from the platform's public pages (a page blocks automated reading, or its pages disagree); the source list explains.
The source data for these tables was collected on 14–17 October 2026.
Competitor pricing was cross-checked against public sources on 17 October 2026.
We hope that being honest about what each generation costs, and showing how we checked, helps creators like you do your best work on a platform you can trust. We'll keep serving our customers that way: transparent about our prices, and fair in how we set them.
Footnotes
- Each row compares the same model version at the same resolution, audio and quality, priced in the same unit. A platform that doesn't sell the version is marked not offered; one that sells it only at other settings, such as another resolution, is marked not at this setting. We used public sources only, collected on 14–17 October 2026. Competitor pricing was cross-checked against public sources on 17 October 2026. Individual collection dates and any qualifications are shown in the source list; entries are updated as we recheck them. ↩
- Competitor annual plans checked 17 October 2026. Highest public individual tiers, excluding teams and enterprise; all included credits used. Lower recorded app or separately billed API price shown. Temporary offers, MCP-specific discounts and unlimited allowances excluded. Sunra uses the Creator yearly rate of $0.0037 per credit applied to the table's rate-card prices, before per-request whole-credit rounding. The count covers recorded prices, including qualified estimates; it does not establish prices for unverified offers. Small gaps count as ties under the comparison tolerance. Magnific's lower Kling 3.0 Pro price does not explicitly state audio inclusion. ↩
- Midjourney V8.1, Suno v5.5, Suno v5 and Suno v4.5+ are in Sunra's prompt box but not in these tables, because there is no maker API price we could verify to compare them with: Midjourney sells subscriptions only and Suno has no public API. We'll add them when there is. ↩
- The tables show list prices, without sales or sign-up offers; where a platform was running one, its source line gives that price. ↩
- Prices within 1% of each other count as the same price. ↩
- For models billed by the token, we converted with the maker's own token counts for the setting. ↩
- Where a platform's API doesn't sell the model, we used its app credits at its lowest-priced monthly plan that includes the model; the price's tooltip and the source list name the plan. Pika sells API access at member prices, which need a paid membership; the tables say member price. ↩
